Celebrating Accomplishments and Important Milestones

One way of building a sense of community at work (and increasing employee morale thereby) is to celebrate important accomplishments and milestones in the lives of co-workers and colleagues.

The time and resources available to do this varies from organization to organization, yet the small amount of time it takes to give a "group" birthday card, or to send a "group" get-well card is well worth the effort.

The same holds true for group get-togethers (to celebrate arrival of new staff, milestone employment anniversaries, significant accomplishments, retirements, departures and so on).

Often, in a busy work environment, these are among the most important activities that forge valuable bonds among colleagues and co-workers.
